Bold and Bizarre Games Bulletin (December)

Alrighty, here we go again. It’s December, and we have five fresh interactive oddities for you.

Here’s your Bulletin your December.

#1 The Cabin Factory

Out Now | International Cat Studios

The Cabin Factory ticks three very important boxes for me:

There are Cabins

Some of the cabins are haunted

The game is less than the price of a coffee

As a connoisseur of high-concept horror (and what a year it's been for that), the idea of inspecting haunted cabins as part of a factory line's safety process is just *chef's kiss*. The game seems to be doing some impressive numbers, too, which is great, and hopefully spurs on more horror devs to try something a bit different.

#2 LOK Digital

Out Now | Draknek & Friends

Pantaloon's Puzzles are fairly scrappy on the visual front, let's be honest. But this? Draknek & Friends have crafted something both puzzley AND pretty; a wonderful combination. LOK Digital encourages you to unravel a cryptic language, which can directly affect the game world with its words.

#3 Gnomes and Knights

 Out Now | Terletski Games

There's been a nice little run of grubby first-person fantasy games recently, and I'm here for them. In Gnomes and Knights you assume the role of a knight on a quest to find the titular gnomes across a dark fantasy world. With a low-poly aesthetic that promises not to overburden your system, the game offers five levels across a procedurally-generated forest, each with its own gnome to discover, and six possible endings based on your choices.

#4 Ballionaire

 Out Now | newobject

It's out! I've been following the development of Ballionaire since the first - scrappy and unpolished, but very very playable - demo landed on Itch.io however long ago that was. Look at it  now! The roguelike autobonker is now available on Steam with rehauled visuals, new boards, and a slew of other bells and whistles. Go play. It's delightfully moreish.

#5 Bundle of Joy

#5 | New Demo! | Essay Games

Our good chums at Essay Games have just dropped the latest demo for their 'dad simulator' (although anybody can indeed play Dad), Bundle of Joy. The latest slice of the game includes new 'Tidy Up' and 'Burp the Baby' mini-games, as well as Controller and Steam Deck support.

Reminder! Pantaloon's partnered games for December is Kona

This month we're giving you a copy of Kona; a chilly interactive tale from Parabole. NOTE: we have postponed the key drop by a week, meaning keys will now go out on January 2nd.

All that's left to say is happy holidays - enjoy the festive period wherever you happen to be, and we'll catch you on the other side.

See you Jan 2nd for the key drop x

pantaloon.
