Bold and Bizarre Games Bulletin | April

Today we have another quintet of peculiar game offerings for you as usual, but we also come bearing a new Puzzletrunk offering, meaning you can guarantee your copy of this month's partnered game, as well as a duo of exciting little news items from our upcoming games.

A reminder! All of the games featured in this month's Bulletin can be found in our Steam Curator page. Give it a follow!

#1 FEAR FA 98

Coming Soon, Steam | Jacob Jazz

"Silent Hill meets FIFA 98" is honestly the most sublime elevator pitch for a game I think I've seen. And needs little more explanation than that, really. I saw the game doing the rounds a while back, but it recently landed back on our radar after being brought up on Discord

FEAR FA 98 brings together the competitive elements and core objectives of a football match with the horror and dank aesthetics of Silent Hill or Manhunt. Inspired.

#2 Vaporwave Pinball

Out Now, Steam, Itch.io| Jamie D, Mixtape Games

Jamie describes Vaporwave Pinball as a 'virtual holiday' - a voyage to a strange liminal space inhabited by pools, statues and - obviously - pinball tables. Despite the score-chasing sensibilities at the heart of the pinball itself, the game presents a low-fi, almost zen experience - perfect for zoning out from the stresses of everyday life for a few hours.

#3 Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 - Get da MILK!lum

Out Now, Itch.io | MIKDOG

Right, where to start with this one. Bru & Boegie: Episode 1 - Get da MILK is a surreal point-and-click comedy-adventure revolving around a quest for milk. While many self-billed funny games often struggle to deliver on their comical-promise, Get da MILK's very specific type of humour (irreverent, very silly) makes for something genuinely very funny. Episode 1 is free, and you can play it in your browser - so go nuts.

#4 White: ANASTASIS

Out Now, Steam|Petros Lales

Equally surreal, but with far less silliness, White: ANASTASIS is an open world adventure game that has you finding and restoring broken factories to restore power to the 'real world'. Immediately raises questions doesn't it. Games with distinct monochromatic colour palettes quite often themselves in these Bulletins, and White's up there with the most striking of them.

#5 Blue Prince

Out Now, Steam |Dogubomb

Ok, so while it's not wholly bizarre (it's very cerebral and sophisticated, in fact) and certainly not an undiscovered gem (at time of writing, the game is the highest rated release of 2025 on Metacritic)  Blue Prince is the kind of game that you puzzle aficionados are going to  want to play. Chances are you're playing it already. Most people are. I'm not going to divulge much other than it puts a twist on the roguelike formula that is somewhat inspired, resulting in a very different type of puzzle experience.
